In 2010, ISG was awarded a public bid through the University of Louisville and local engineer QK4 on the University’s campus-wide wayfinding project. The first signage phase consisted of fabrication and installation of custom vehicular directional and street name signs throughout the University’s urban campus. Over the course of the next 8 years, ISG’s contributions to the revitalization of the University of Louisville campus continued as our custom fabrication capabilities were put to the test. In 2012, the University opened Freedom Park, where ISG fabricated and installed 10 illuminated obelisks that detail the history of African Americans in Louisville and 9 glass panels honoring civil rights champions.

Most recently, ISG spent 2 years working on phases 1 and 2 of the UofL Streetscape project. Through combined efforts by ISG, QK4 and Stengel-Hill Architecture, the prominent University Blvd is now lined with 24 illuminated totems decorated with the cardinal mascot and 138 illuminated panels recognizing the generous UofL donors that made so many of the revitalization projects possible.
